This month we are pleased to introduce our Leasing Manager Italy, Marco Sapienza! Let’s find out more about him!

You are responsible for leasing at Brugnato 5Terre Outlet Village. How would you describe the project to someone who doesn’t know much about it?

First of all, I would say that the Brugnato Outlet 5Terre is located in a medieval village that is on the list of "the most beautiful villages in Italy". The centre is situated next to the motorway Genoa - Livorno, which connects the most prestigious places from Portofino to Forte dei Marmi. The outlet village is there part of the privileged route of the famous tourist area of the Cinque Terre, a project that surprisingly continues to grow every year in terms of flows and appreciation.

Indeed, it has a unique location on the border between the Ligurian Riviera and Versilia, near the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cinque Terre National Park. Is there a particular spot or must-see that you strongly recommend?

Well, of course the splendid seaside areas with their small harbours and inlets are a must-see, but personally to capture them all I would recommend the walks along the cliffs (Sentiero Azzurro) perhaps towards sunset, which really provides "pictures" to remember forever.

It is obviously a very busy area. What does tourism represent for Brugnato 5Terre Outlet Village?

Tourism certainly represents an important resource for Italy in general and for this area in particular, but I usually like to point out that the centre has a fairly stable influx throughout the year, thanks both to the strong Italian component of consumers and to the fact that tourism in the area is made up both of summer visitors (Eastern Europe, France, Germany, China) and of a more conscious tourism of American and Northern European origin, which also arrives in spring and autumn as well as the whole cruise sector.

We all are aware of the popularity of Italian cuisine, but what is the one dish that you could eat every day?

Every day!? So, if I were the protagonist of the famous film "Groundhog Day", I couldn't do without some spaghetti with clams (accompanied by a glass of dry white wine) and I probably wouldn't mind the situation too much…

And the one you cook best?

I'm pretty good at making sauces, so just 4 ingredients (cherry tomatoes, olive oil, garlic and parsley) and spaghetti ready!
