This month we are happy to introduce you to Maciej Mędrek, Leasing Manager Poland. Maciej is with us since last year and has taken on Designer Outlet Warszawa and the new development Designer Outlet Kraków.

In the latest ecostra annual report, Designer Outlet Warszawa ranked as the third best performing outlet centre in Europe. In your opinion, what do you think are the main elements that set the premium outlet shopping destination apart?

Premium outlets distinguish themselves by housing a wide array of well-known, high-end brands and luxury retailers. Designer Outlet Warszawa stands out due to its selection of prestigious brands, offering customers access to premium and exclusive products. Providing a pleasant and upscale shopping environment is crucial. This includes well-designed facilities, upscale amenities, spacious walkways, attractive storefronts, and comfortable seating areas.

Designer Outlet Warszawa offers high-quality products at discounted prices compared to regular retail stores. Exclusive events, sales, and promotions organised by the centre management attract a wide range of customers. Special deals or events for VIP members, early access sales, or seasonal promotions influence the exclusivity of the place.

In my opinion, our advantage is also the outstanding customer service, personalized shopping experiences and a focus on customer satisfaction, which can definitely set a premium outlet apart.

Effective marketing strategies, branding campaigns, and collaborations are also distinguishing features of Designer Outlet Warszawa. This includes leveraging social media, partnerships with influencers, and strategic advertising.

Meanwhile, Designer Outlet Kraków is a completely new development and the fourth project of ROS in Poland. What do you think is its best cover letter?

Designer Outlet Kraków, unlike our other projects in Poland, is located within the city centre, not on the outskirts. It is part of the city fabric with natural pedestrian traffic and there are residential buildings nearby and new ones planned. This is a very strong point for this location, which in our opinion will have an impact on footfall and certainly on the turnover achieved by tenants.

Tell us, what would you like to learn next?

I would love to learn how to refurbish a vintage car engine by myself, honing my skills in automotive restoration and preservation of classic vehicles. It's a fascinating blend of engineering, history, and craftsmanship that intrigues me immensely.

Window or aisle seat?

Always aisle seat… It's more intriguing.

Most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

The riskiest thing I've ever done in my life was skiing down a very high-altitude peak. The steep slope and the potential dangers associated with skiing at such heights made it an adrenaline-pumping and nerve-wracking experience. The adrenaline rush and the leap into the unknown were both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.
