We are pleased to introduce you to Dariusz Obołończyk, Centre Manager at Designer Outlet Sosnowiec, the first outlet centre in the south of Poland. Discover more!
Designer Outlet Sosnowiec has recently upgraded its main entrance and has today a new car park and a wonderful green lifestyle area. What other surprises can we expect in the future?
The near future of Designer Outlet Sosnowiec looks very exciting. the process of improving the tenant mix after the pandemic crisis has already started this year with the arrival of Desigual, Benneton and Marc O’ Polo to the centre. But this just the beginning: the plans for 2023 are very ambitious. We are in advanced discussions with many strong and popular brands that will significantly enhance our offer. The final piece of the puzzle will be the centre extension – this should strengthen our position in the market as the leading outlet centre in the region.
Designer Outlet Sosnowiec is also the first outlet centre in a very convenient location in the Silesian region. In your opinion, what is it that best characterises this region and what are the main perks for Designer Outlet Sosnowiec?
Value for money. People from Silesia love luxury brands and have no problem spending money, but the product has to be worth the price. Therefore, a good outlet centre in the region with strong brands is destined for success. Moreover, Designer Outlet Sosnowiec is a beautiful place to spend time thanks to its exceptional architecture and atmosphere. I truly believe that it is one of the most beautiful shopping centres in Poland.
What is one city you have always dreamed of traveling to?
Long ago life gave me the unique opportunity to travel around the world. I have seen a lot of beautiful places in almost every latitude. But there is one city that holds a special place in my heart – Santiago de Chile. That was the very first city I visited in South America. I love everything about it: the skyline with the monumental Andes, the atmosphere in the streets, the food, the people… I would love to go back one day!
What makes you feel accomplished?
For me, fulfilment means being important to others, not because of the role you play – for example as a father or a boss – but because of who you really are as a human being. As long as the people around me want to know what I think and what I feel, and it means something to them, I can say I feel accomplished.
What is the one talent you wish you had?
Dancing. Every time I see my little son “naturally” dancing like a professional artist, I come to the conclusion that there is something missing in my skill set. My wife keeps saying that I have “a charm’s tanker” when dancing, that’s painful, but very true 😊
In two words, how would you define the last 5 years at ROS?
Out of difficulties grow miracles.
