ROS Outlet Shopping kicks off first Job Day of the year in Soltau

Soltau, 22 January 2024

Dozens of visitors came to Designer Outlet Soltau on 18 January for a very special occasion. ROS Retail Outlet Shopping organised an exciting Job Day for those interested in advancing their retail career in the German premium outlet shopping destination.

Over 15 brands looking for suitable applicants, including Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Villeroy & Boch and many more, participated in the Job Day event that took place on Thursday, 18 January at Designer Outlet Soltau. More than 40 visitors could find out more about their potential future workplace and talk to the brands in a welcoming atmosphere. In words of Carsten Baenke, Retail Manager at Designer Outlet Soltau: “It was a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in which both parties were able to exchange information and get to know each other.”

From sales and fashion consultancy to store and branch management, there are currently more than 50 vacancies at Designer Outlet Soltau. This premium outlet shopping destination and all others in the ROS portfolio provide a full benefits package for its employees. In addition to a range of training opportunities at the Retail Academy for centre employees, including sales, visual merchandising and loss prevention, there are extra employee discounts of 10% to use in the stores and food court. Dedicated employee events, goodies, family & friends promotions and free parking are further advantages that employees benefit from at Designer Outlet Soltau as well as the ROS managed premium outlet centres.

The Job Day event was organised in cooperation with the regional employment office, which was also present throughout the day. Both parties are active partners committed to the economic growth of the region. “We truly believe that outlets are an economic engine for the region, bringing in a large amount of tax revenue and providing significant employment opportunities. We are constantly striving to create a long-term positive local impact,” says Carsten Baenke. The second edition of this year’s Job Day at Designer Outlet Soltau will take place in April and promises to be a great opportunity for brands and potential applicants to connect and exchange expectations.

The initiative is part of ROS' Employer Branding strategy as an operator and aims to attract candidates and support brand partners in their recruitment efforts across its 12 locations. Carsten Baenke adds: "Our brand partners have expressly thanked us for offering them formats such as the Job Day as a recruitment support.” The current retail staff crisis in Europe is slowing the expansion of many brands, thus highlighting the importance to invest in people and employer branding. As a result, ROS is working on proposals and solutions to address this issue, which involve recruitment services, active and continuous training and the creation of attractive incentives for employees to work in all premium outlet shopping destinations in the portfolio. In parallel, the operator is exploring different recruitment tools and software solutions to enhance further support to brand partners.
