The Algarve, one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations, is where we travel this month to introduce Tiago Santos Pereira, Leasing Manager Portugal. Get to know him!

It’s been almost a year since you joined ROS as Leasing Manager Portugal at Designer Outlet Algarve. What attracted you most to the project?
After many years working in Shopping Centers and Airports (Travel Retail), this experience working in an Outlet is beyond any doubts the perfect opportunity to add to my existing skills different knowledges and experiences. ROS is one of the major specialists in Outlets management and its growing ambition motivates the team to deliver more. Finally, working in an international environment, being part of a team spread around Europe has been a great experience.

What news can readers expect about Designer Outlet Algarve? Can you give us a sneak peek?
We’ll have great brands coming up until October. Last 29th of June we opened a New Balance store and also Hackett, Façonnable, Gant and Adolfo Dominguez are already confirmed and will open very soon. We expect 2 or 3 new more brands until the end of the year. 2024 will also be a very important year, but that’s all I can say for now…

What’s the best gift you’ve ever been given?
Clearly the best gift I've ever received isn't about anything material, it's about being blessed with all of my children.

Who’s the person you’d most like to have a coffee with?
I really enjoy drinking coffee, so I’m afraid that I would have a long list… J Anyway, if I had to choose only one person, I would like to have a coffee with Pope Francis, one of the most inspiring persons to me, who is bringing to the world a new message of humanity, respect and acceptance of each other’s differences .

Portugal is a fascinating country and attracts lots of tourists in summer. What is one of your favourite spots that you would definitely recommend to visit?
I’m a big fan of Portugal and I love to travel inside the country. From north to south, east to west, there are lot of places to discover and all very different from each other.

In Algarve, I’d recommend Praia do Barril, where we get by train, and also the marshland area between Faro and Tavira, where there are five islands that serve as a barrier between the sea and the Ria Formosa. It’s an absolute paradise. In the north of the country, in a totally different atmosphere, I’d recommend Douro Valley, where Port Wine is produced and the landscape is classified as Unesco heritage.

As a ‘newcomer’, what has surprised you most about working at ROS?
Without hesitation I have to mention the team spirit, since most of the team is spread around Europe but always in touch and always available to help in each other's projects and in the difficulties that each one may encounter.
